The 2005 Finalists
HOLLYWOOD GATEWAY SCREENWRITING CONTEST ANNOUNCES SIX FINALISTS FROM AN INCREDIBLE FIELD OF ENTRIES
Los Angeles, California - August 13th, 2005 - The Hollywood Gateway Screenwriting Contest today announced the six finalists of their third annual international screenwriting competition.
A panel of judges comprised of industry experts is currently working to select the finalist from a group of six wonderfully creative scripts. The winning screenplay is poised to receive a cash prize of $5,000 against a potential purchase price for the screenplay of up to $100,000.
“Hollywood can be a really insular business,” says Brent Armitage, co-founder of The Hollywood Gateway Screenwriting Competition. “If you don’t have connections in the industry, it can be hard to get your script noticed, let alone read by a studio. That’s where we come in. Hollywood Gateway knows that there are great writers out there waiting to burst on to the scene, and the finalists this year prove it in spades.” Armitage is a writer and producer with such credits as Grosse Pointe Blank, The Feather Men, and The Big Bounce starring Owen Wilson.
The following finalists will receive the best-selling screenplay writing software Final Draft 7, detailed script analysis service by an experienced, accomplished development executive and exposure to top writers’ agents and film and television producers.
The titles of the six fabulous scripts selected by Hollywood Gateway are listed below, with the names of their talented writers:
Love, in Reality written by Gideon Raff
Elephant and Castle written by Wilmer Lin
Bind written by Stephen Dudycha
